It's that kind of love story.

When 14-year-old Corinne loses her best furry friend to illness, nothing can console her, until she falls in love with the picture of a sad-looking golden retriever who's about to lose his life in a high-kill shelter.

As she and her family jump through hoops to try and save Barker, fate intervenes to give them the happily ever after they both deserve in the most unexpected way.

Vicky is happy young lovebird with a great life as the Johnson family pet. When her human Marie starts making Valentine’s Day cards for her first grade class, Vicky is definitely intrigued. "Valentine’s Day is very special," Marie explains. "It only comes once a year, and when it comes, you have to tell everyone how much you love them. But most of all, you have to find a special friend to be your Valentine." A day about love? That’s fantastic! Now who can be Vicky’s special Valentine? A search begins as Vicky asks anyone who will listen to be her Valentine. Unfortunately, the pretty dolly ignores her, and so do the people in the glass box—and she's not sure she can trust the family cat's intentions. Will the day come to a close before Vicky can find a Valentine? There’s only one way to find out. Join Vicky in her hunt for love in this special holiday edition of the color-illustrated Bird Brain Books series for children.

Seduced by Innocence cover reveal

Seduction comes in many forms.
"Liquid fire poured into me, filling me with the intimate sense of him as he leaned in to claim my lips with his own. I reached for him, needing him closer, but my arms couldn't close the distance between us, which grew wider with each hitched breath. So close to finally feeling something real, something carnal and deep, I cried out in frustration, dropping my hands as he disappeared. My cries deepened into a frenzy of panic and my eyes flew open. I clutched my blanket and stilled myself to calm my racing heart.

Just a dream. Always just a dream."

Rose Wintersong didn't have an ordinary upbringing. Raised in what most would call a hippy commune, but what is actually a powerful coven of witches, she never questions the life fate chose for her.

Until she meets Derek O'Conner.

Derek challenges everything Rose believes and forces her to see the secrets hidden beneath the whitewashed walls of her idyllic country life.

Rose knows she should walk away, that the sexy martial arts instructor is bad news bred to create discord in her tight community… but the animal magnetism between them is impossible to fight.

Caught between the passion of first love, and the steady beat of the life she's always known, Rose must choose between the innocence of her youth or the pleasures of womanhood—but lost innocence comes at a price, and Rose harbors a dark secret that could destroy everyone she loves—including Derek.

Submit to the Seduced Saga as Derek and Rose face their future while unraveling the mysteries of their past.

T.G. Ayer "Dead Radiance"

"That day I knew for sure. I'd lost control of my tears then. They fell in huge, mocking drops. I stared at Joshua through those bitter tears, my heart missing beats as I tried to remember to breathe. I finally knew what the glow meant. I was a freak and Joshua was going to die." Bryn Halbrook had always seen the glow. But it is only when her best friend dies that she discovers the meaning of those beautiful golden auras - Death. Alone, lost in the foster system, she struggles to understand who she is and why she was cursed with the ability to see the soon-to-be-dead. The new foster kid, Aidan, isn't helping any. Mr. Perfect seems to fit in no matter what, making her feel even more pathetic. But when his affections turn to her, Bryn finds him hard to resist. Impossible actually. A mystery himself, Aidan disappears, leaving behind a broken heart and a mysterious book that suggests Bryn might not be entirely human. Bryn stands at the threshold of a journey of discovery. Will destiny help her find herself, find her purpose and her place in a world in which she'd never belonged?

BIO:  I have been a writer from the time I was old enough to recognize that reading was a doorway into my imagination. Poetry was my first foray into the art of the written word. Books were my best friends, my escape, my haven. I am essentially a recluse but this part of my personality is impossible to practice given I have two teenage daughters, who are actually my friends, my tea-makers, my confidantes… I am blessed with a husband who has left me for golf. It’s a fair trade as I have left him for writing. We are both passionate supporters of each other's loves – it works wonderfully…
My heart is currently broken in two. One half resides in South Africa where my old roots still remain, and my heart still longs for the endless beaches and the smell of moist soil after a summer downpour. My love for Ma Afrika will never fade. The other half of me has been transplanted to the Land of the Long White Cloud. The land of the Taniwha, beautiful Maraes, and volcanoes. The land of green, pure beauty that truly inspires. And because I am so torn between these two lands – I shall forever remain cross-eyed.

EXCERPT of "Rob Seablue and the Eye of Tantalus"

Welcome to my tour stop of Russell Hasan's "Rob Seablue and the Eye of Tantalus"
A magical curse has been unleashed and Connecticut teen Sorcerer Rob Seablue’s best friend has been seduced by evil magic. To save his best friend—and to save the world from his best friend—Rob will fight magical duels, decipher an ancient riddle, and help sad, depressed teenagers to be happy and self-confident so that the curse can’t destroy them. And he will wage a war against the evil magic all while seeing heavy metal rock shows, going on dates with his girlfriend, doing his homework, and avoiding getting grounded by his father for staying out late! A unique novel at the cutting edge intersection of teen urban fantasy and libertarian/objectivist fiction, this novel can be described as “Atlas Shrugged” meets “Harry Potter.”
Professional review:
"What more could a libertarian novel reader want? . . . The book is ingenious throughout and most ingenious at its end -- ingenious, I might add, without losing plausibility. Actually, the story continually becomes more plausible, as well as more exciting." - Stephen Cox, Editor, Liberty Magazine

EXCERPT

I understand Hugs’s plan now. I see what he’s doing. His plan is to go after the kids who are weak, the ones who suffer, the ones who are outcasts, losers, loners, the ones who are depressed, lonely, uncool, the ones we all laugh at. The kind of teenager who thinks about suicide, the kind that is common, even though we’re trained to believe that people like that are rare, even though they don’t show up among all the pretty, shiny, plastic-wrapped posers. He thinks they are all like him, full of sadness simmering into a desire for revenge, revenge against society, against normalcy, against what people hold holy and sacred, revenge against everything and everyone. He thinks those are the ones most likely to give in, to give up, to let their sadness turn to anger and then to hatred, making them into his pawns. Then, with them at his side, he’ll have his gang, he’ll be the bully, he’ll rule the school… and the world. But he’s counting on me not doing anything. And he’s wrong. I’m not going to let him win. I’m not going to let him and his crazy Eye of Tantalus get one person, no, not even one. And you know why I’ll beat him? Because the kids in my school are good. We’re good kids. Not that we always obey the rules, or get everything right, not that we don’t stumble and fall every once in a while. Not that we don’t try too hard sometimes, or not try hard enough other times. Not that there aren’t some bad seeds. But by and large, we’re just trying to do what’s right, as difficult and confusing as it is to even know what right is. We’re just living our lives, that’s all, and just trying to manage and cope and to be happy. These are my classmates, my friends, my fellow human beings. And they’re innocent. They’ve done nothing to deserve Hugs attacking them, trying to corrupt them and destroy them. Nothing. So I’ll be their guardian angel. I’ll be their superhero. I’ll be that someone, that something, invisible, but there, something they can feel, someone they can rely on. I’ll save them, I’ll rescue them—by showing them that their legs are strong enough for them to stand on and that they don’t need me or him or anyone else to save them. I won’t let Hugs get to them. I won’t let him get to even one of them, not one! Each one of us is just trying to live his or her life, be a good person, and get some satisfaction—and I’ll protect that, I’ll protect them. I’ll prove that being human isn’t weak and stupid, like Hugs thinks, but that humans are good and noble, and that we can be happy, and that we’re not hopeless pathetic little nothings. I’ll prove it to him and then he’ll see, and then I’ll get Hugs back too. The evil magic won’t win. I’ll find a spell capable of defeating and destroying the Eye of Tantalus. And then, with my best friend at my side, I’ll be happy again. If I can. If I’m not too late. If I’m really even strong enough to do this. If I really am a hero. If humans really are good, if we really aren’t ugly nasty horrible things like Hugs believes. And if Hugs doesn’t get to me first….

An awesome guest post from Nancy S. Thompson

BLURB: Tyler Karras is an honest man, a transplanted Brit living the American dream, but his charmed life takes an unexpected turn when his brother, Nick, is coerced into joining ranks with San Francisco’s Russian mafia.  Ty intervenes to secure Nick’s freedom, yet only succeeds in incurring their wrath.  With no choice but to accept Nick’s new life, Ty returns to his own, but his dreams are dashed when his wife—pregnant with their first child—is killed, the victim of a reckless crime. Despondent and bitter, Ty macerates his grief in alcohol.  From the depths of the bottle screams a voice, howling for vengeance.  His target is a stranger, the woman who drew his wife toward her death.  He doesn't know her, but he’ll find her, and when he does, he will make her pay, for a deal has been struck with Nick’s Russian associates, enslaving her into a life of bondage.  But as Ty moves forward in a cloud of alcohol, he mistakes the wrong woman for his intended victim and now all his plans have gone straight to hell. With his eyes made clear by the stark reality of his mistake, Ty is driven, compelled by remorse and a relentless sense of guilt to make amends and protect Hannah Maguire, the innocent woman whose life he has derailed.  He vows to keep her safe and out of the Russians’ hands, but they’re holding Nick as leverage to force Ty to complete their deal and turn over the girl.  Once again, he must fight to free his brother, miring all three lives in further jeopardy.  But Ty can’t do it all:  Save the girl, his brother and his own soul.  One of them must make the ultimate sacrifice.
The Guest post:  A Difficult Choice

Most novels include a difficult choice the protagonist has to make.  That’s what keeps the reader reading, to find out how he makes that choice, what happens when he does, and how he lives with the consequences.  My novel, The Mistaken, is no different.  In fact, the entire story is driven by poor choices and the ensuing search for redemption.

Choice #1:  In the beginning, the protagonist, Tyler Karras, insists his brother, Nick, live up to his promises and pick their visiting parents and younger sister up at the airport, even though Nick complains he’s too tired and hungover.  The result:  his parents and sister are killed in a car accident, and Nick is badly injured.  This injury leads to drug dependency, a robbery to support his addiction, and Nick’s coerced affiliation with the Russian Mafia.

Choice #2:  When Tyler’s pregnant wife, Jillian, becomes mired in a criminal case of identity theft, Tyler—always a stickler for the rules—insists they wait for the police to conclude their investigation.  When nothing comes of it, Jill seeks help from Nick and his Russian associates in forcing the woman responsible to turn herself in.  But when Tyler finds out, he warns Nick off.  The result:  Jillian takes matters into her own ill-prepared hands and dies.

Choice #3:  Unable to live with the fact that his actions have led to such devastating results, Tyler plunges into alcoholism.  During a bender, Tyler, under advice from Nick, decides to avenge his wife and unborn child.  He makes a deal with Nick’s Russian boss, ringleader of a group of sex-traffickers.  In exchange for the woman who killed his wife, they’ll let Nick leave the business for good, with his debt wiped clean and his heart still beating.  But in a drunken haze, Tyler mistakenly targets the wrong woman.  The result:  he’s bound by an agreement he can no longer abide.

The Ultimate Choice:  With the Russians holding Nick as leverage to force Tyler to complete to their deal, he must decide whether to turn over the wrong woman and free his brother, or protect his innocent victim and risk losing Nick, and perhaps all their lives, to the very enemy he’s unleashed.
